Our young dancer program introduces dance, music and movement in a gentle and creative way. Experienced teachers allow children to add their own spark of creativity with the use of props and imagination. As the Primary Division progresses dance forms such as ballet, tap and jazz are introduced in a fun and confidence building class.
While instilling the love of dance and music, structured classes in ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, musical theatre, hip hop, modern and acro are offered, growing the young student into an accomplished dancer. In our classical training, California Dance Theatre is proud to include the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development.

Pre-Professional Training Program
California Dance Theatre’s Pre-Professional Training Program (PTP) is a supplemental program for the career/college minded dancer. This 9 hour/week program provides the additional training necessary that is achieved in an accelerated environment. Combined with the standard 9 hour/week training program and the 7 hour/week rehearsal process, the additional 9 hour PTP will give each dancer a 25 hour/week training regime.
A limited number of dancers will be accepted into PTP.
