2022/2023 Class SchedulE
BALLET DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS:
(Dancers in levels 2A and above who wish to audition for the Nutcracker and the Spring Ballet must meet the ballet department requirements for their level)
Baby Ballet, Creative Dance & Primary A & B
1 class per week
Ballet 1A and 1B
Minimum 1 technique class per week
Ballet 2A, 2B, 3A, Tweens, and Teen Ballet 4/5
Minimum 2 technique classes per week
Ballet 3B
Minimum 2 technique and
1 pointe class per week
Ballet 4A, 4B, and 5A/5B
Minimum 2 technique,
1 pointe, and 1 variations
class per week
Ballet 5B/6
Minimum 3 technique,
1 pointe, and 1 variations
CLASS ELIGIBILITY:
Pointe Eligibility
Ballet 3B or higher, 11+,
2 ballet technique classes weekly.
Director recommendation required.
Lyrical Eligibility
Ballet 3A or higher, 10+, 2 ballet technique
classes & 1 jazz or modern class weekly.
Contemporary Eligibility
Ballet 4B or higher, 13+, 2 ballet technique
classes & 1 jazz or modern class weekly.
California Dance Theatre is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Primary through Level 6 & Partnering will be taught by ABT® Certified Teachers, Kim Maselli, Jonathan Sharp & Eliza Tollett and Katie Mcculla, who have successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. All of the CDT ballet faculty will be instructing students under the guidelines of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
